Punto Banco's Attraction to Players

The game of Punto Banco is one of the many examples of European Baccarat, which is usually played in the North American continent, Canada and Australia. It is also considered one of the Big Four of gambling games in Mainland China together with Sic Bo, Pai Gow and Keno and can usually be found in Asian gambling pits of casino facilities all over the world.

The main difference between Punto Banco and Baccarat is that there is absolutely no chance for the player to be the banker. But this really makes no difference to the luck of the player. The main goal of the game is to correctly guess whose card hand, the banker or the banco or the player or the punto, will achieve a total of nine or at least close to the total of nine. You can also wager on the possibility of the tie hand coming out.

All of the ten cards and the picture cards have a worth of zero and all of the remaining cards like the ace card up to the nine card retains their value. The ace cards are worth one. When the sum of a pair of cards is more than ten, the first digit will be disregarded. Like if a card hand is given an eight card and a six card, which has a total of 14, then the first digit is ignored.

The final total of the card hand is four. An important reminder that you should not forget is that when you are participating in the game of Punto Banco, your chances of winning will depend on the hand that you will place your wager on, not the card hand that you will play in the game.

If the card hand that you have place your wager on wins, the casino will give you double the amount that you have wagered, unless you have wagered on a tie. If you have wagered on a tie, then the total payout is 8 times greater than the amount you have wagered. If you have place your wager on the banker hand and win, the casino charge a five percent commission. If you wager on a particular and that hand loses, you will lose your entire wager.

If you do not wager on the tie and the result favors the tie hand, then your wager will be given back to you. A review at the probability in Punto Banco will let you know where the casino has its advantage, which is in the tie wager.

The probability shows that the tie wager will come up less frequently compared with the other wagers so the payout is bigger compared with other hands. But the odds of the tie wager coming out are 10.5:1 although the total payout is only 8:1. The banker hand and the player have the same probabilities although the cash payout and casino advantage are different.

The banker wager is considered to be the most advantageous since it only has a one percent casino advantage. In most casino games, the casino edge is smaller in some wagers in craps. The possibility of the banker wager winning is slightly bigger compared with the player wager but remember that if the banker hand wins, you have to give a five percent vigorish to the casino. The player wager has a bigger casino advantage at 1.25 percent. There is no vigorish on the player hand, so nothing will be subtracted from your winnings.

Some players do not like to wager on the banker hand because they feel like that they are wagering against themselves. Whether or not you will wager on the tie hand will depend on your gambling technique. If you want to immediately win big in the game, then the tie hand is for you. But remember to decide on how much you are willing to lose and make sure that you will quit in the game while you are ahead. The banker hand is your best chance in Punto Banco so remember to wager on this hand as much as possible.
